the alliteration of letter “p”: a trio of poems

i pulled apart a pepper

i pulled apart a pepper
to pack with pork & peas
but in its plump & pithy pleat
i found a pod, petite:
a pepper in a pepper !—
ne’er a once in past i’ve peered;
so i prepped it in a pram-like puff
to ping its prime premiere.

she plucked a problem out her prose

she plucked a problem out her prose —
& poof! — like that! — its press was gone;
but prox’mately a penny-past,
a phrase unpolished pulled up prompt.
‘twas pulls in her poor pantyhose,
which pushed this plot to pry her lips
with pitchy, pouncy expletives —
each piece that poly-rhymed with “pit”.

a promise at our palates

at our palates a promise placed —
let the tongues then dissolve
so not to push a platitude
that’s predisposed to palinodes;
let’s part from praxis that’s not our power —…
